Testimonials

I debated on whether or not I should share some of my client feedback. After several clients suggested to me on their own volition that it would be a good idea, and that they would have appreciated something like this in their search, I decided to go ahead and share some of the things my clients have written about their experience in counseling. (A few of these are taken straight from ratings they entered themselves on other webpages). Some of them have even used their real names, but I am not going to include either names or initials here in order to protect their privacy anyway.

I have received permission to publish all of these comments, and it is important for you as a potential client to know that I will not expect you to provide me with feedback other than what we personally and confidentially discuss as part of improving your experience in therapy.

Individual Counseling

“When I first started my search for a therapist, I was a little apprehensive/skeptical that therapy would work for me. The thought of sharing so many personal details and being so vulnerable in front of a total stranger was kind of terrifying actually. (Especially to someone like myself who is already prone to having social anxiety.) If you are in a similar boat, you should give Elizabeth Read a call. The first session is a free introduction, so there is very little risk involved. From that first session on, I have felt completely accepted and at ease (personal awkwardness aside.) Her insights are spot on, and she has helped me see through a lot of my own negative tendancies, without making me feel judged in any way! She has also provided me with many excellent tips and strategies for fighting anxiety/depression and self esteem issues. Honestly, you will be doing yourself a great favor by giving her a call!”

“I want to thank Ms. Read in helping at a time in my life when I didn’t know who to turn to. I never thought I would have needed to go see someone in her field. While trying to figure out which way I was to move forward with my life Ms. Read guided me in finding some of my own true feelings that I needed to address first. This has allowed me to reevaluate my life and start to go in what I perceive to be the right direction. We all know deep down inside what our issues are and many solutions to those issues. We just need someone like Ms. Read to help us acknowledge them and deal with them in a professional safe environment. To help someone is the greatest gift you can give, and you have given me that gift. THANK YOU!!!”

“Liz is amazing. I was nervous about going to counseling but she immediately made me feel comfortable. She is relaxed and her presence is calming and friendly and down to earth. I’ve been seeing her for about a month now and I can’t believe I waited this long! I realized this morning how much my life has changed because of the work I’ve done with her so I wanted to put it out there.”

Couples Counseling

“I think you ARE a spectacular counselor.  We both know I didn’t have a lot of faith that my marriage could work when we started.  In just a few short months, we’ve gone from probably going to divorce to being best friends again, like when we were dating, before the kids, and the bills, and all the stress of life.  Our relationship is stronger than it has ever been.  We can’t thank you enough.”

Counseling for Teens/ Adolescents

From a father: “(I really wanted to tell everyone what a “kick ass” counselor you are.)… Elizabeth provides an environment that is comfortable and relaxing. She is an experienced, capable, and dedicated professional whom always keeps her clients best interests at heart. Because of Elizabeth, my family enjoys a much improved open line of communication and greater understanding of each other. The outcome of our counseling has far exceeded my expectations and I would strongly recommend Elizabeth to anyone looking for ways to improve or enrich their lives.”
